Gavin Fraser is an associate professor at the College of Applied Sciences. His consulting work focuses on increasing the efficiency with which carbon is converted into attractive end-products. He was previously the Head of the College of Applied Sciences. His research focuses on biodegradation and bioremediation, as well as biochemical engineering of metabolic pathways, with the goal of enhancing industrial fermentation productivity. He also served as Head of Biochemistry and Microbiology and as Associate Head of the College of Applied Sciences. He is also a member of the Microbial Society, where he served as Treasurer and Convener of the Fermentation Group.
