Classical Statements in Sociological Theory

About The Book

The central hypothesis of sociology is that individual behaviour is substantially moulded not only by the social groupings to which people belong but also by the social interaction that takes place within those groups. This is the sociological "fundamental insight." The group, rather than the person, is the primary subject of study in sociology. The interaction between people is the primary focus of sociologists' research; specifically, the manner in which individuals behave toward, react to, and have an impact on one another. Sociology, on the other hand, does not investigate everything that takes place in societies or as a result of social situations. Classical Sociological Theory still has two historical chapters that cover both the early history of the subject as well as its most recent advancements. Both of these historical chapters are included in the book. Students are provided with an overview in the form of these chapters, which enables them to place the work of each thinker within its appropriate historical, social, and political context. Students are provided with a convenient summary of the most of the information that they need to know regarding traditional sociological theory by this book.
