Cultural Heritage Sites

About The Book

A World Heritage Site is a location or monument that has been recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as having cultural, historical, scientific, or other type of significance, and that is legally protected by international treaties. It has been determined that the places are vital to the well-being of humanity as a whole. The primary goals were to define the World Heritage in both its cultural and natural aspects; to enlist Sites and Monuments from the member countries that are of exceptional interest and universal value, the protection of which is the concern of all mankind; and to promote cooperation among all nations and people to contribute to the protection of these universal treasures in their entirety for future generations. This stunning book presents these locations by describing them in a few words and illustrating them with images. It is a striking indicator of the life and resilience, culture, and spirit.
