Injury Prevention and Treatment in Sports

About The Book

Injuries sustained by athletes during big sporting events are considered sports injuries. In many cases, these types of injuries are caused by overuse of a bodily part during participation in a particular activity. For instance, runner's knee is a common painful condition connected with jogging. Hard contact with something can result in further forms of injuries. This frequently results in fractures, ligament or tendon tears, or both. In professional sports, injuries are a typical occurrence, and most teams have a staff of athletic trainers and strong ties to the medical community. This book, titled Prevention and Treatment of Sports Injuries, examines all elements of sports injuries. The content is written in straightforward, conversational English and is organised in a clear manner. The book addresses all of the factors that contribute to the foundations of sports injuries as a process, profession, and academic field. Hopefully, the present book will be valuable to students and instructors of physical education and sports, as well as to athletes.
