Physiology and Biochemistry of Animals

About The Book

Animal Physiology is a must-have text for anyone studying physiology or zoology. The advances in the science of physiology over the last four to five decades have been extraordinary. Animal physiology applies human physiology's tools and approaches to non-human animal species. Techniques from both domains are also used in plant physiology. Its subject matter is as diverse as the tree of life itself. Because of the breadth of topics covered, study in animal physiology focuses on understanding how physiological features changed throughout the evolutionary history of animals. Biochemistry, often known as biological chemistry, is the study of chemical reactions that occur within and relate to living organisms. Biochemical processes give rise to life's complexity by managing information flow via biochemical signalling and chemical energy flow via metabolism. Biochemistry has proven so successful at explaining living processes in the last several decades that it is now used in practically all fields of the life sciences, from botany to medicine to genetics. Animal Biochemistry is a subfield of chemistry. Biochemistry is the study of the chemical processes that occur in living organisms. It focuses on the function and structure of cellular components such as lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, and other biomolecules. This useful book depicts both the individual organisation and the collective interconnectedness of each full physiological system. This book provides students with the extensive information resources they need to pursue a career in animal health and sciences.

Darrell Stafford earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas after conducting research on bacterial drug resistance. He has also went to the state's biological warfare facility. He studied the IL-1 and TNF signal transduction pathways that affect apoptosis and immunity after earning his degrees. He is a co-author of the third editions of Biotech and Molecular Biology. The Textbook and Scientific Writers Association honoured the revised edition of Molecular Biology with an award. In addition, he has written an online study guide to go along with the updated version of Molecular Biology. He has taught General Biology, Genetics, and Anatomy and Physiology classes.
